S10 Blazer and ZR2 Questions. 

This page is dedicated to any S-Series questions I've gotten and the answers to help people out. I want to help get as much information in one place for other enthusiasts to find. Please feel free to submit any questions you have and i will do my best to answer the ones I can. 

What size rear axle does my s10 blazer ZR2 have? 

The standard axle for most s-series vehicles is the gm 10 bolt 7.5/7.6 inch axle. Certain manual trucks and all ZR2's got the larger GM 10 bolt 8.5/8.6 inch axle. The best way to tell the difference between the two axles in an chevy S10 or GMC Sonoma is to look at the axle tube where it goes into the center section the axle tube diameter will get larger just before going into the center section of the differential. There are 3 different axle widths for a 2 wd model being the narrow axle, a standard 4 wd model and the widest being the ZR2 axle width. ** *I will get pictures and create a video on this topic.***

If you have a check engine light on the first thing to do is find out why the light is on. If you cannot check the code yourself i recommend having a local auto parts store scan your computer for you all cars after 1996 have an OBDII port that they can connect to and scan your ECM for CEL codes. When you have the code you can google the code and your vehicle to get an idea on the issue and repair options. The OBD2 port on a 2001 Blazer is under the dash below the steering wheel.

When I got my 2001 GMC Sonoma I started working on it replacing parts and researching possible problems. I then decided to build the Sonoma as a bullet proof S-series Plow Truck. I still have not completed the process but a lot of work has been done to the Truck. I have learned a lot about the weak points of the blazer and some fixes for the problems. While looking for parts i came across my blazer ZR2 and now couldn't give it up for parts.
